Summary
Feel free to change the topping to reflect your tastes. It takes more time to preheat the oven then it does to prepare this recipe.

What you’ll need
1 med flax, oat bran & whole wheat pita (Joseph’s Pita used in analysis)2 tsp. olive oil1/2 tsp. dried oregano2 tbsp. pasta sauce (or drained crushed tomatoes seasoned with oregano and basil)1/2 med cooked sweet or hot sausage (pork, turkey, chicken)1 tbsp. Parmesan cheese2 slice mozzarella cheese, thickly cut (1/2 cup shredded)

Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.Step 2
Poke pita bread with a toothpick. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place in preheated oven for 3-4 minutes until it starts to crisp.Step 3
Remove from oven and drizzle the olive oil and dried oregano over the pita bread and even it out with a pastry brush (this gives it the taste and aroma of a pizzeria).Step 4
Spoon the pasta sauce evenly over the pita. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the sauce, top with mozzarella cheese, then with either thin slices of the sausage or crumbled sausage. Raise the heat to 475 degrees and bake until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
