What you’ll need
2 med ripe Anjou or Bose pears2 med Granny Smith or Golden Delicious apples1/2 cup fresh cranberries2 tbsp. frozen orange juice concentrate1 med cinnamon stick1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract1/4 tsp. freshly grated nutmeg4 small walnut halves
Cut pears and apples in half and core.
Place in medium-size saucepan with remaining ingredients except walnuts and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer over low heat 10 to 20 minutes until fruit is tender. Discard cinnamon stick.
Strain through food mill and serve warm or chilled, chopped with a walnut half.
