This spread can be served hot or cold. Omit the hot sauce altogether if you have mild taste buds.

What you’ll need
1/2 cup canned reduced-sodium chickpeas2 tbsp. freshly grated Parmesan cheese1 tsp. olive oil1/4 tsp. hot sauce

Step 1
Drain and rinse the chickpeas. Mash chickpeas with a fork in a small bowl or mix in a blender until smooth.
Step 2
Mix the Parmesan cheese with the chickpea mixture.
Step 3
Add oil and hot sauce and blend well. Serve with pita bread crisps.
