blood sugar By: Anonymous

My dr said to test in pairs, so I do...but i can't remember what he said was an appropriate change in my sugar after the 2 hr mark to see if i ate too much carbs...I have DM2 and take janumet xr 50-1000. What is the acceptable range per meal before I have to reduce the carbs in that meal?

Hello, Please go to my blog: http://www.diabetescare.net/authors/clara-schneider/7-important-numbers-people-with-diabetes-need-to-know to see many values that are recommended by the American Diabetes Association and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. Ask your doctor which of the value sets you are to use. You should also ask your doctor for a recommendation for a dietitian to see. This is to make sure you are getting the proper nutrition you need as well as the amount of carbohydrates to manage your diabetes. Clara Schneider MS,RD,RN,CDE,LDN
