6 cups peeled, sliced apples
¼ cup water
2 tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar or the equivalent in artificial sweetener
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ cup oats (old-fashioned or quick)
1 tablespoon firmly packed brown sugar or the equivalent in artificial sweetener
1 tablespoon soft margarine
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Combine the first five ingredients and mix well. Arrange apple mixture in an 8-inch by 8-inch baking dish that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.
Combine remaining ingredients and sprinkle over apples. Bake for 30 minutes or until apples are tender.
