Do I need to change the dose of insulin I inject based or whether or not the temperature is hot or cold outdoors?
The dose of insulin may be changed based on fingerstick readings and not based on temperature. In hot or warm temperatures there may be a need for more insulin because of the change in metabolism. However, the dose of insulin cannot be changed based on temperature alone. It is important to report your fingersticks during the day to your provider, and based on those fingersticks the dose of insulin may be altered to improve blood sugar.
